## Frequently asked questions

### Is DeducePuzzles free?

Yes, to play. Every day’s three puzzles — Easy, Medium and Hard — stay free, with the full worked solution, streaks, leaderboards and private leagues, and no account needed to start. There is an optional paid tier, [DeducePuzzles Pro](https://deducepuzzles.com/pro) (₹199/month or ₹1,499/year). Signing up includes 7 days of Pro at no charge; Subscribe charges that price today. Pro adds the Saarathi reasoning coach, unlimited adaptive practice beyond the daily, and the Past Puzzles archive. The daily itself is never behind it.

### Which exams does DeducePuzzles help with?

It’s built for the logical-reasoning section of Indian competitive exams — banking (IBPS PO & Clerk, SBI PO & Clerk, RRB), SSC (CGL, CHSL), Railway, UPSC CSAT, State PSC and campus placement (TCS NQT-style aptitude tests) are all pickable streams today. Choose the exam you’re preparing for when you start (changeable anytime in Settings) and the daily tunes its topic mix and leaderboard to it.

### Is DeducePuzzles only seating-arrangement puzzles?

No — DeducePuzzles has **32 reasoning kinds**, and the daily rotates through all of them: nine arrangement families you solve on an interactive board (floor, flat & floor, circular, row, double-row, order & ranking, scheduling, box and square seating) plus 23 exam-pattern MCQ kinds (**data sufficiency** on floor and ranking, syllogism, coded inequality, coding-decoding, blood relations, classification, number series, number analogy, alphabet test, alphanumeric series, machine input-output, direction & distance, uncertain persons, eligibility, calendar, clock, symbol operations and more), all on the same validated single-solution engine. Pick your exam at sign-up (changeable anytime in Settings) and the daily tunes its topic mix and leaderboard to it — every stream draws from the same 32-kind pool, weighted to its exam: banking days lean puzzle-heavy, SSC/Railway lean coding/series, UPSC leans arrangements + DS.

### How is DeducePuzzles different from question banks and courses like Testbook, Smartkeeda or BYJU’S?

Those are question banks and courses — great for learning theory. DeducePuzzles is a daily habit: a fresh, server-checked, single-solution reasoning puzzle every day with a streak and leaderboard. You can’t cram the answer — you build the skill. Use both.

### Will DeducePuzzles actually help my exam?

We target the section you lose the most marks on first (banking: puzzles + data sufficiency), with a step-by-step solution after every round and difficulty that adapts. It’s exam-pattern reasoning, daily, in about five minutes — built for the consistency that cracks reasoning.

### Does DeducePuzzles cover quantitative aptitude or maths?

Not in DeducePuzzles — this is the **reasoning** daily. Quant has its own daily from the same team: [ComputePrep](https://computeprep.com), a free **timed** drill across [33 quant kinds](https://computeprep.com/drill-types) — [vedic-maths shortcuts](https://computeprep.com/vedic-maths) plus percentages, DI, quadratic comparison, profit & loss, time & work, P&C and probability. DeducePuzzles trains reasoning accuracy; ComputePrep trains calculation speed against a clock. Most aspirants run both dailies back to back in about ten minutes.

### Does DeducePuzzles cover non-verbal or figure-based reasoning?

Not yet — those are image-based and we only ship puzzles we can validate to a single solution. We focus where a fresh daily puzzle beats a static bank; non-verbal practice is better served by a question bank for now. We’d rather be honest than overclaim.

### What kind of puzzle is it?

It depends on the day — the daily rotates across the 32 formats above. On **board days** you get people, positions (floors of a building, seats at a table) and clues, and deduce the single arrangement that satisfies every clue. On **MCQ days** you get an exam-style question — syllogism, data sufficiency, coding-decoding, number series and more — and pick the one correct option. Every puzzle is validated to have exactly one solution before it’s served.

### How do difficulty levels work?

Three ranked puzzles each day — Easy, Medium and Hard — and you can play one of each. On board days, higher levels use more people and positions, so there’s more to eliminate; on MCQ days the question itself gets tougher.

### How do streaks and the leaderboard work?

Solve the daily puzzle to extend your streak; miss a day and it resets. Your time and score are validated on the server, so the leaderboard ranks real solving. Sign in with Google to keep your streak across devices.

### How many attempts do I get?

Three attempts on arrangement (board) puzzles — after a wrong submission you’re told how many clues your arrangement violated, so you can fix it. MCQ puzzles are one attempt: pick carefully, like the real exam.

### Can I install DeducePuzzles on my phone?

Yes, two ways. On Android, install the free [DeducePuzzles app from Google Play](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deducepuzzles.app). On any phone, DeducePuzzles is also a Progressive Web App — open it in your mobile browser and choose “Add to Home Screen” to install it like an app. That is how iPhone users install it: there is no iOS App Store build.

### Do I need to create an account?

No. Start playing immediately without signing up. Google sign-in is optional and only saves your streak across devices.
